The market has been trading for several centuries since the town was established back in the 17th Century.  Today it trades every Thursday and Saturday and now encompasses an Antiques Market every second and fourth Thursday of the month and Farmers Markets once a month.

Every Thursday come rain or shine you can guarantee the Retail market shall be on in Banbury Town centre!

Traders such as fruit and vegetables, ladies handbags, plants and flowers, ladies hosiery & fashion, phone accessories, vacuum spares, phone accessories, cards and stationary, butcher and plus the fantastic Isla Jane bakery! Additional to this the antiques market joins us every second and fourth Thursday of the month.

Every Saturday we are joined by the regular stall holders selling plants, fruit and vegetables, bags and handbags, flowers, cards, stationary, phone accessories and refreshments from Sharon J

Retail Market

Thursdays provide two excellent retail butchers and pie stalls:-

“Who ate all the pies?”

  • Black Country Pork Pies £3.00 Large, £1.50 Medium, £1.00 Small.
  • Large selection of cheeses, ham and cooked meats.
  • Family Bag of pies for £5 (ideal for freezing) includes Steak pies, Cornish pasties, Steak & Ale, Sausage Rolls and Chicken & Mushroom.

Retail butchers

  • Sausages, steak cuts, sirloin, braising steak, pork, chicken fillets and much much more 🙂

Country markets, cards & stationary, ladies fashion, jewellery, socks, hats, gloves, t-shirts, pies, eggs, sausage & bacon

Our popular, friendly North Oxfordshire farmers’ market with plenty of fresh, local produce.  Come and meet your local farmers and growers.  Banbury Farmers Market in North Oxfordshire is held in the Town Market Place on the 1st Friday of the month from 8.30am – 1.30am.

Antiques Market

Antiques 2 Go friendly team of antique dealers and enthusiasts include Black Cat Books and Susie’s accompanied with many other stalls …

The market place is located in the centre of town near the foot of Banbury’s Old Town and alongside Castle Quay Shopping Centre.

Annual events

The Market Place is also host for various annual events including the Annual Amusement Fayre and Banbury’s Annual Food Fair.
