All proceeds from sales go to help run the Katharine House Hospice, which provides first class palliative care to Banbury and the surrounding area.

What do they do?

Katharine House Hospice delivers healthcare called specialist palliative care, for patients and their families. It delivers this care in any setting including within the hospice building, within the patient’s home and in the Horton Hospital.

Specialist palliative care is for those who have a diagnosis of any illness such as heart failure or cancer, which is advanced and therefore cannot be cured.

The purpose of palliative care is to help the patient live as fully and comfortably as possible in the last period of life by focusing on their needs. It also aims to support their family, both practically and emotionally, with all aspects of caring for someone they love.

We therefore offer holistic care. This care addresses physical, spiritual, emotional and social needs. Each patient and family is unique and so we make every effort to deliver that holistic care with an individual focus.

We work alongside other health and social care professionals including GPs. Our care is free of charge.

Ye Olde Reine Deer in Banbury’s Old Town

Ye Olde Reine Deer InnA traditional 15th century pub

A crackling fire, fine food and real ale will perfectly round off your visit to the historic town of Banbury.

A warm welcome awaits you at Ye Olde Reindeer Inn, which dates back to the 15th century. It is a characterful and atmospheric pub where once Oliver Cromwell held court arranging future battles.  Its high beams, wooden floors and benches and the famous Globe Room create a unique atmosphere.

Historic, unspoilt traditional pub: well kept Hook Norton ales, delicious food and friendly service.

As well as sampling our local real ales, wines and spirits, we offer an extensive menu created by our experienced chefs that’s both affordable and delicious.

With our daytime bar menu available from noon until 3pm, 7 days a week, and a daily specials board, we offer the perfect way to unwind after a morning of shopping.  And if it’s a Sunday we serve a Sunday Roast from the chef’s joint of the day!

Drop in anytime, we’d love to see you.

Some history ….

Ye Olde Reindeer Inn dates back to the 15th century and probably offers the best pub food in the market town of Banbury.  Tables near log fires are particularly popular during the winter months.  A fine range of local ales, wines and excellent spirits compliment a fine menu.

Globe room available for bookings all year round…

The atmospheric inn is of great local historic importance.  Oliver Cromwell held court in the pub, arranging future battles.  There are high beams, wooden floors and benches and the famous Globe Room, the paneling of which was held at the Victoria and Albert museum until 1946 and has now been returned.  For more details on the English Civil War and the Reindeer Inn’s involvement, scroll further down.

Did we mention our food?

We’re proud of our food menu created by experienced chefs.  It offers exactly what you would expect of the pub but at very affordable prices.  We say, save some pennies for the ale!  Our day time bar menu is available seven days a week from noon until 3pm.  Our ‘Specials’ board is updated daily so pop in while you’re shopping to see what’s on offer.

Our dishes are all prepared to order here at Ye Olde Reindeer Inn, and at our busiest times may result in a short wait. We appreciate your understanding.

We have a policy of sourcing locally as much produce as possible.  Our meat is rarebreed and traceable, poultry free range and our fish is delivered daily.

Ye Olde Reindeer history & The Globe Room

The Globe Room had a high ceiling and richly carved panelled walls with pillars, shields, scrolls and cherubs.  Above the panelling was an ornamented frieze covered in a mixture of angels and scrolls.  Surmounting the whole room was a magnificent honeycomb-patterned plaster ceiling rich with flowers, urns and scrolls with mermaid like figures appearing at intervals.  On the east side is a great mullioned window of eight bays, with a carved oak ionic pillar on each side of it and at either end of this wall are carved oak doorways.

It is believed to be very likely that the Globe Room was used regularly by Oliver Cromwell as his headquarters and more interestingly, as a court room to sit in judgement in one of the several Royalist trials that took place during the Civil War. We know this because of an engraving showing him seated behind a desk in front of the great mullioned window with an unfortunate captive in front of him.  A copy of this engraving can be seen in the Globe Room.

It is also thought that Cromwell may have used the Globe Room to plan one or both of the sieges of Banbury Castle that stood on the north side of the Market Place.

Ann Summers in Banbury’s Castle Quay

Ann Summers Banbury

Be sexy everyday …

We are proud to introduce Banbury’s very own Ann Summers. Our aim is to provide high quality products that not only look fabulous, but also increase confidence!

Found something you like online but not sure about it?  Pop into the store and ask one of our staff for more details and we will order it for you with free delivery to your home!

You simply can’t put a price tag on confidence. It affects every aspect of your daily life, from when you get up in the morning and slide into that slim-fit dress, to when you go out with friends, dressed up in your finest. Those who have it, flaunt it and those who don’t stand back in awe.  Ann Summers offers every woman the chance to be proud as they get ready for the day, with a little glint in their eye that says they look just as good without the clothes!

Online or in store.  How it works …

Our national website always has our latest collections and complete lingerie ranges including everyday wear, bridal wear and swimwear.  In short, everything you will find in our Banbury store can be found online, so for more considered purchases, why not browse the website before coming down to the store to see and try before buying?  We also deliver direct to your home in Banbury and can order in store any item for you even if not in the shop that day.  Ask a member of staff the next time you’re passing.

Ask about our bra fitting service

Our specially trained staff can fit bras up to two sizes higher than most other high street bra fitting services.  Appointments are preferred so we can allocate enough time for the fitting service, but not always necessary.

Please be advised that, by law, we cannot arrange bra fittings to anyone under the age of 16.  We can of course offer advice and are happy help where we can.

We’re not just for the bedroom

No one knows what you are wearing underneath that pencil skirt, but something about your posture suggests silk and bows.  The woman who wears Ann Summers lingerie is a happy woman who lives for the moment and not just for date night.  The foundation is at the very core of female confidence and that foundation is built of lace and satin.

At Ann Summers, the quality is clear

Quality and fitting is essential in underwear. At Ann Summers the quality is clear from the outset and a great deal of time has gone into creating designs that complement and enhance the natural shape, giving you the confidence to wear them, happy in the knowledge that you look amazing.

You are welcome to come in any time for a free fitting to ensure that you are wearing the best size for your body. At Ann Summers Banbury we are all women together, so there’s no need to be embarrassed or shy. Feel free to ask any questions you would like to and take a look around at all that we have to offer.

Gifts and ideas for you and your partner

We stock a wide range of fantastic gifts for birthdays, Valentine’s Day and anniversaries, so everyone is welcome to come in and ask for some advice on what to buy that special partner.
